Her name is most definitely familiar to those that have watched the YouTube vlogs of Jamie and Nikki.
However in the fashion world her name is now amongst high fashion and runway elites.
Her rise to top model status has to be admired. Starting off by competing in the Australian franchise of Next top Model and finishing third place, her model prowess was definitely something to watch.
But now the heights that she has soared to are undeniable.
But unfortunately, despite the wonders that Ducki has showcased in the fashion industry, we are reminded of the callous, superficial and ugly characteristics the same industry holds. Ducki fell victim to bullying from someone whom you would consider to be a peer.
Fellow model Winnie Harlow, who in her own right has much to be proud off, went to her social media platform to make a mockery of Duckis’ natural hair. After her taunts made the rounds she then went ahead to give a measly Apology.
This is an unfortunate reminder of the petty and envious behaviours displayed in such industry. I’m sure there is a whole underground of people behaving in such manner. However I think it’s important to ensure that we celebrate our differences and highlight the successes of others.
To end I leave with a link to Duckis’ latest interview in Teenvogue.
I expect to see and hear much more from miss Ducki.
